Francesca Tosarelli


Francesca (1984) is an independent photojournalist. She has been publishing on the Sunday Times Magazine, Le Monde, The Guardian, Guardian Weekend Magazine, The Independent, The Daily Beast, The Observer, Courrier International, 6 Mois, D - La Repubblica delle Donne, Semanal, El Pais, GEO, Spiegel Online, TAZ, G1 Globo TV, Rainews24, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Iltalehti, 360Magazine among others. Among her clients: Save The Children, Oxfam International, Royal Anthropological Institute, Unipol. She has been living in Brasil, Italy and the UK. She has a BA in History of Arts and a Master in Photography; she has been working as assistant photographer in Sicily, Thailand and India. In 2011 she began working as a freelance photojournalist and she became a member of Matchbox Media Collective. She worked almost two years (as communication supervisor, set photographer and field producer) on the production of the crowdfunded documentary film Sandgrains about the local consequences of European overfishing in Cape Verde. She has been exhibiting her stories in the UK, Germany and Italy; she has been selected for Prix ANI 2013, 2012, 2011 Visa Pour l’Image, Perpignan. She has been recently selected by Noor for their Masterclass in Conflict Photography.
